During my time stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, in 2019, I encountered something that defied explanation. I was living in one of the older family housing units on base with my husband and young daughter. From the day we moved in, strange things began to happen.
It started with small incidents—objects disappearing and reappearing in odd places, lights flickering, and doors closing on their own. One evening, as we were sitting in the living room, a picture frame flew off the wall and shattered on the floor. My husband and I were stunned, but we tried to dismiss it as an anomaly.
However, the incidents escalated. We would hear footsteps in the hallway when no one was there, and our daughter often woke up crying, saying she saw a "scary man" in her room. One night, we heard loud banging noises coming from the kitchen. When we investigated, we found all the cabinet doors open and the contents strewn across the floor.
I reported the incidents to our housing officer, but they couldn't find any logical explanation. We even had a local priest bless the house, but the disturbances continued. Eventually, we moved to a different unit, and the activity stopped. The experience left us convinced that our old house was haunted by a poltergeist, a restless spirit that seemed intent on making its presence known.
