During a training exercise at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in 2017, my unit experienced an incident that defied all logic. We were conducting a simulated combat scenario, complete with tanks and armored vehicles, when one of our tanks, commanded by Sergeant Jake Willis, suddenly disappeared from view.
One moment it was there, and the next it was gone. We radioed Sergeant Willis, but there was no response. Panic set in as we searched the area, expecting to find the tank overturned or stuck. Instead, there was no trace of it. After several hours of searching, the tank reappeared in the exact spot it had vanished from, with the crew inside bewildered and shaken.
Sergeant Willis and his crew had no memory of the time they were missing. They reported that everything went dark for a moment, and when visibility returned, they were in the same location. There were no signs of damage or malfunction on the tank. The incident was reported, but no official explanation was provided. To this day, we refer to it as the "Vanishing Tank" incident, an unsolved mystery that left us questioning the nature of reality.
