It was late at night in September 2020 when I was making my usual run along Interstate 70, headed toward Denver. The road was empty, with only the sound of my engine and the occasional rustle of the wind. I’d been driving for hours, the fatigue starting to set in, when I noticed something unusual in my rearview mirror.
A truck appeared behind me, but there was something off about it. It was a classic rig, an old model that looked like it belonged in a different era. Its headlights flickered in and out as if struggling to stay lit. Intrigued, I decided to let it pass, but every time I sped up, it kept pace with me, no matter how fast I drove.
I tried to brush it off, convincing myself it was just my imagination playing tricks after a long night on the road. But as the minutes passed, the eerie feeling grew. I could see the truck more clearly now, its cabin empty and the driver’s seat devoid of any figure.
Just as I was about to call it quits and pull over, the ghost truck suddenly surged ahead, as if challenging me. I slammed on the accelerator, determined to catch up and see who was driving, but the truck was now flying down the highway. I pushed my rig to its limits, but it was as if the ghost truck was toying with me, effortlessly pulling away.
As we raced down the road, I noticed the landscape around us seemed to warp. Shadows danced across the asphalt, and the air felt thick with tension. Just then, the ghost truck took an unexpected exit, vanishing into the darkness. I couldn’t believe what I had just witnessed.
I pulled over, heart pounding, trying to process the surreal encounter. I checked my phone for any signal to call for help, but there was none. All I could do was sit there in disbelief, staring at the empty road where the ghost truck had just been.
When I finally gathered the courage to continue my journey, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something otherworldly had just challenged me. I made it to Denver that night, but I told my fellow drivers about the ghost truck I’d encountered. They all laughed it off, but deep down, I knew what I saw was real.
